Atrial Flutter

Atrial Flutter

Atrial flutter represents a common arrhythmia of the top chamber of the heart (atrium) which is usually dependent on a critical isthmus or region of tissue within the right atrium. Ablation therapy for atrial flutter usually targets this critical area of tissue, and by ablating, it eliminates this tachycardia. Patients with prior ablations or open heart surgeries may be susceptible to developing unusual atrial flutters. Advanced 3D mapping techniques are used for these types of atrial flutter.
